Once I switched to
digital several years ago, I was forced to cast aside
my oils and offer beautifully tinted images through the latest in software.
This offers several advantages over the traditional hand tinting I used to
do... plus, um, it is less messy. (Ha.Ha!)
1) Pricing is super affordable…my tinting
on average ranges from $10 to $75 per file. Once
your digital file is tinted...its tinted...prints of are charged at the
standard portrait pricing. Due to normal hand tinting obviously being done
individually, photographers obviously have to charge for each copy…so this
method makes it just soooo amazingly affordable if you need multiple copies for
family and friends. This also means that your tinted images can be smaller than
traditional tinted images... you can finally have tinted wallets, 4x6’s, 3x5’s,
announcement cards, holiday cards and invitations...how cute would that be?!?
2) As the tints are digital, you get to see proofs
of them for your review
and approval before we
send them off to the lab. We can then fine tune the tinting
if necessary... lightning or darkening the
tinting... something you would never be able to do with oils. I also place the
tinted elements in “layers” ...allowing me to turn on and off areas of
tinting...which is a big plus too.
Check out these series of gorgeous portraits that were sent to my clients for
their review. I am soooo thrilled to offer so many options!
