smashing mayhem! Featuring a matching party hat, diaper cover and real cake, it
is topped off by coordinating balloons and curly confetti ribbons. The

Let me tell you how fun this session is for everyone involved! What a
multi-sensory delight this is for your one year old! Parents laugh so hard that
they generally are wiping tears away! Between my own bursts of laughter, I just
can’t take enough pictures...all the wide eyed expressions involved in the
initial awe of being allowed to even touch the cake...the mischievous glint in
their eyes when they understand they are supposed to smash, kick, throw the
cake...the exuberance at learning it can be eaten, followed by frantic attempts
to stuff two hands of cake at once into their mouth...and ultimately the teary
eyed realization that almost every single inch of their bodies are covered in
sticky stuff is just the best!
 
It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to do the birthday cake smash...a half
hour or so to capture the hilarious display and then about 15 minutes or so to
de-cake your one year old. Towels provided, as well as warm wet wash cloths at
the end of your session. Parents: wear old clothes. I will supply Hefty trash
bags with head and arm holes cut out for you. You laugh now...but you
desperately will appreciate it when you pick up your messy one!
This is the only session I allow to be videotaped...it is just too hilarious to
not have on tape. So make sure you charge your video camera the night before!
It is totally fun to play it back at your little one's first birthday party!
Remember to book this for the beginning of the very end of 10th month if you are
hoping to do invitations for the party. If you are just trying to have a
portrait for display at the party, then please book just before the middle of
the 11th month so you can have the portraits back in time!
