Everything you could want to know about booking a session with me:
There are two ways to see me...private sessions or my portrait events.
My private sessions can be up to two hours at my studio in Orange, or at one of my favorite parks or the beach.
Studio sessions allow for the most variety...as you can most readily choose
multiple themes for the time we spend together. For the studio, I offer a one
hour session, allowing for 2-3 themes and with an optional addition of another
hour, allowing for another 2-3 themes! My park and beach sessions are two hours
long, and also allow for theme changes as well.
I also offer Limited
Edition Portrait Events
and Signature Portrait
Events throughout the
year for my more
elaborate themes that
require a complete
transformation of the
studio setup and
lighting, and then other
special portrait Portrait Events that are just some of my more
popular or seasonal themes.
To book a private
session or portrait
event session, all you
have to do is call my
866-WAY-CUTE
number...which
translates into
(866)929-2883. The
message center picks up
24 hours a day, and my
amazing customer service
manager, Corinne, will
return your call shortly.
Please book your session as soon as possible to ensure a date that works ideally
for your schedule and the timeframe you need the portraits back in. Last year I
became WAY too busy for my own good, so this year I have wisely decided to
limit the amount of sessions to ensure the level of customer service I pride
myself in offering. I only do two sessions per day now, unless I am doing an
all day portrait event. I am trying to no longer work on the weekends,
unless there is a Portrait Event I have scheduled. I will usually reserve one
weekend per month for private sessions, but I do have a weekend surcharge for
those private sessions of $100 per session. During the majority of the
year, I book 2-3 weeks out for weekdays and about 4-6 weeks out for weekends.
During the holiday season, which starts for photographers in Sept, I book up
super fast. I recommend calling in August to reserve your session for Oct, Nov
or Dec.
When Corinne returns your call,
she will have lots of
questions for you and
certainly will be able
to answer any you may
have. She will ask what themes or type
of photography you had in mind, find out your timeline and availability, and
then take down all the booking info
she needs...names, ages and theme choices.
She
will also tell you
more about each theme
you have selected and if
we clothes
aren't part of the theme, then I will offer suggestions for clothing. I will
also get your email address so I can email a confirmation of our session date
and time, and directions to my studio or event. Both my private sessions and my
portrait event sessions require the session fee paid at the time of booking. I
take Visa, Mastercard or Amex. I do not take checks at all. Many parents do not
have their credit card with them when I call, so I am happy to reserve the spot
for up to 48 hours. If I do not receive a call back with payment for that
space, then I do open it back up for other families to take. The session fee is
non refundable. If you need to reschedule, then the session fee is of course
transferable to your new date. I ask for 48 hours notice in rescheduling... but
as a parent myself, I know children can get sick without much notice, so if you
find your little one is not at their best on the day of our appointment, just
give me a call first thing that morning. I have two boys of my own, so I will
be up bright and early no matter what! If I don't receive a call and you don't
show up, then your session fee will be forfeited...I am sure you understand.
Your session fee covers the time it takes to set up your themes, the time during
the session itself, the creation of the presentation slideshow and/or online
viewing gallery, the retouching and sizing of your portraits for the lab,
getting your completed order to you, as well as the archiving of all your
images forever. Portraits, cards and other products are charged
separately, and are paid for online at the time of ordering.
During your session, I take as many portraits as time allows...and that can turn
out to be tons and tons! The longer time we have together, the more I
take. Throughout and at the end of your session, we can review the images
taken in a monitor on the wall or on my camera's LCD...that way we always know
that you are happy with the portraits so far. At the end of our session or
within the next few days after your session, we schedule your viewing
presentation for about two weeks after your portrait session. I have long been
told that I take way too many portraits, and because I always allowed everyone
to see every single one, for 2007 I now pick several of the best in each series
and perfect those images in post production. Families really seem to appreciate
me streamlining the process for them. The best images are then assembled into
an amazing slideshow that is shown to you at your viewing and ordering session.
We then go through your portraits, allowing you to see enlarged images to see
expressions up close and compare side by side so you can narrow them down to
the ones you absolutely adore and want to order!
After placing your order, we get right to work on sending it off to the various
labs and vendors I work with! If you have any thing that requires a proof, like
a card or collage, we address that first so we can forward it to you for your
review and approval and get it right off along with the rest of your order.
Turnaround for portraits is usually four weeks...although if you have a portion
of your order that needs to be rushed, like a birth announcement or party
invitation, I am happy to get it to you as soon as possible. The products I
offer take longer...I will provide you with a specific time quote for that part
of your order.
Most of the time I am happy to deliver your little As Cute As It Gets portrait
bag or enlargements to you if I can work your location into my week.
Your portrait bag or enlargements can be shipped out UPS free of
charge with a $250 minimum order, which includes protective packaging and full
insurance. If your order is less than that, then I generally charge $10 for the
shipping and insurance.
If you haven't already please see my customer
comments section to hear what my clients have said about their As Cute
As It Gets session!
